Oil Content Meter for Oily Water Separator
The Oil Content Meter is specifically designed for use with oily water separator systems, exceeding the stringent requirements set by the International Maritime Organization’s specifications for oil content monitoring (Resolution MEPC. 107 (49)). This advanced meter ensures high performance and reliability, safeguarding compliance with international environmental regulations.
All OWS must be equipped with an oil content meter capable of triggering an alarm system that automatically halts the discharge process when the oil content in water exceeds the regulatory 15 ppm threshold. The oil content meter continuously monitors and measures the concentration of oil in water, activating an alarm to alert the crew if the permissible limit is exceeded.
The 15 PPM Oil Content Meter meets the latest IMO and MEPC standards, providing operators with a dependable tool to ensure compliance and protect marine ecosystems. According to IMO regulations, the oil content meter must undergo calibration every five years. However, it is strongly recommended that shipowners perform this calibration annually to maintain the highest operational standards.
Calibrations should be conducted by an approved service station, such as R.M.I.S., to guarantee precise accuracy and adherence to all regulations. Additionally, the crew can perform interim calibration checks using an official calibration test kit, providing reassurance that the unit is functioning optimally at all times.
Ensure compliance and reliability with the Oil Content Meter, a critical component for maintaining safe and environmentally responsible operations.
Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment (ODME) Calibration Services
Efficient and Compliant Monitoring
Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment (ODME) is essential for managing oil discharge from tankers, ensuring compliance with MEPC.108(49) regulations. This system tracks oil content in water discharged overboard and ceases operations when the discharge exceeds 30 liters per nautical mile or 1/30,000th of the cargo's total volume.
Core Components:
Oil content meter: Analyzes oil concentration.
Flow meter: Measures discharge rate.
Computing unit: Calculates total oil discharge and ensures compliance.
Control valve: Automatically halts discharge upon reaching legal limits.
Importance of Calibration
Regular calibration guarantees precision in measuring oil content, maintaining the accuracy of slop tank operations, and upholding regulatory compliance. IMO mandates calibration during IOPP surveys, but annual calibration is recommended to optimize performance and reduce environmental risks.
